Army Cavalry Reconnaissance NCO/EM Model 1934 Field Cap

Factory reworked cap made of grey green issue quality wool with machine sewn bevo weave 4th pattern eagle and cockade with hand sewn golden yellow soutache. Cap has two metal air vents, one each side. The inside is lined with two different colors of cotton material, inside top is light greyish tan with marker marking but hard to make them out, the walls of the cap are made of dark grey green material. Note this is a reworked field cap, when a uniform or field cap was worn out they were sent back for rework, they would take a wool tunic or cap that had all the wool nap worn off the front side and turn it inside out, the back side just about always still had all the nap left on the wool, they used this type reworked wool for all type of items, like wool shoulder boards for one. The front side almost looks new, you can pull down the side and back side is worn. Cap looks about size 53/54 small size but nice. Overall show light wear and age. Exc. + $400.00
