Army SIGNAL Troops Officer Visor Hat

Early quality hat with top made of grey green doe skin type wool with lemon yellow wool piping around top edge. Band is made of dark green wool and also piped in lemon yellow, eagle and wreath are made of stamped metal with silver plated finish, not the standard aluminum pattern. Chinstrap is standard silver aluminum twisted bullion wire type, visor is the standard fiber type with black finish, backside of visor has brown finish. Inside is lined with light cream colored silk rayon material, with plastic sweat diamond and marked with maker in gold print. The leather sweat band has light cream color, looks about size 54/55. The leather sweat band has some small holes from some type of bug that has eaten the holes, the leather band is still nice and sound. Bugs have also eaten some of the wool around edge of sweat band in the rear. Outside is nice looking, top of hat and front of the hat plus the piping have no real problems and looks very nice. Under the sides and on the rear under the folds there are some moth nips in the wool, none of these can be seen by just looking at the cap, without turning it upside down or lifting the folds. Overall this is a very nice looking visor hat that shows normal wartime field wear, also not so easy color piping to find. Exc. $925.00
