WW II German Late War M31 Canteen

Steel canteen with dark reddish brown color with no markings, the canteen has some dents in the metal, this does not show up with wool felt cover is on. the steel cup has grey green painted finish with the same reddish color on the inside of the cup, cup is marked but letters are not all that clear but has 44 date, it looks like it may be marked "CHL 44". Felt wool cover is nice but does shows some wear and age, the straps all look like they may be made of pig skin with black finish, they shows some age but look sound. The cap on the canteen is made of black bakelite. Overall shows some wartime field wear and age but looks to be in sound condition. Late war canteen are hard to find in nice condition, they rust out and the strap are most of the time broken, they were just not the quality of the aluminum canteens. Exc. + $200.00
